At the Holy City of Makkah Al Mukaramah, the story begins in a plain, humble workshop that was owned by my father, Sheikh Hamza Al Nukaly, May the Mercy of Allah be upon him. There, he used to produce some of the popular kinds of sweets; simple, primitive materials and colors were used in the manufacturing process.
One day, Sheikh Hamza Al Nukaly accompanied one of his sons; the middle son of Sheikh Mohammed Hamza Al Nukaly’s family, who was best known for his ambition and eager for knowledge. Seeing the different manufacturing phases deeply rooted the love of the industry in his heart, and the desire to establish an industrial edifice one day.
By the course of time, Sheikh Mohammed Hamza Al Nukaly grew up and completed his academic studies; his intellectual and cultural background, and also his commercial experience became fully developed, especially when he assumed responsibility for his father’s trade which he developed pursuant to modern and deliberate bases. His talent enabled him to set up an integrated industrial edifice.
In 1994, the first food-manufacturing factory was established and built in a modern style. Some of the most important factors that contributed to making this dream come true are:
* Commercial experience in the local market and its needs, coupled with ambition and determination to realize this dream.
* The state and government have also had a significant and effective role in facilitating the obtaining of lands and the acquisition of industrial loans from the Industrial Development Fund. Besides, they provided residential lands, and raw materials custom exemption grant.
All these reasons collaborated to establish and promote such manufacturing edifice that is founded on a number of important pillars which no successful industrial environment can do without; among such pillars are:
* Second to watching Almighty Allah is the selection of high quality raw materials from the best exporting countries in the world, followed by performing laboratory testing and research upon such materials to ensure their suitability for the consumer and his common taste.
* Employing foreign work forces who have vast industrial experience, in addition to specialized Saudi staff.
* Manufacturing in accordance with international and global criteria.
Having a wise and well-versed management, Al Nukaly Company has recently won ISO 9001 because of the advancement of its quality specifications and standards in this field.
While the first production line at that time was mainly chocolate, later on the production lines grew in number as there have been production lines of sweets, biscuits, Mamoul, and Holqoum. The development cycle is still running and proceeding in full swing; an extension has been lately established in the factory to contain the rapidly-increasing production energy, in addition to initiating a research and development department for studying consumer’s common taste that is the organization’s primary concern, in pursuit of achieving consumer satisfaction and providing the best services at all levels.
In fact, food industries are some of the most sensitive industries that require extensive effort and extreme care in manufacturing, which cannot be achieved except by watching Almighty Allah, having patience, knowledge, and profound studying.
